Companion first

Looks after you.

Not a Pomodoro app with a face. A small friend that notices you've been hunched over for two hours and says something about it.

Water breaks A friendly reminder to drink something that isn't coffee. Your kidneys say thanks.

Also: a nudge to go outside on sunny weekends, a Today page (History and Insights are Pro), and two homes, the notch or the screen edge.

Focus, when you want it

Drift to YouTube. See what happens.

  1. 1Double-click the tomato. That's the setup.
  2. 2Pick a category. Work, Reading, Studying or your own.
  3. 3One session or Pomodoro rounds. Breaks run themselves.
  4. 4Wander off. It walks over. A little angry, mostly right.

Hey! That's YouTube.

The wardrobe

It dresses for the moment.

No settings, no dress code. It reads the room (and the calendar) and picks an outfit. Take one off the line.

In the zone, or the music's on. AirPods Max go on by themselves.

Judging what's on screen

Four ways to tell work from cat videos.

Four ways to judge what's on screen. Three of them never leave your Mac. Pick one to compare.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Everything people ask before they let a tomato into their notch.

Will it bother me in meetings or full screen?

No. With Calendar on, it gives you a heads-up before a meeting and stays quiet while it's on. In full screen the island tucks itself into the notch. And the menu bar has "Pause reminders for an hour" and "until tomorrow" for everything else.

What permissions does it ask for?

Up to five, and every one is optional. Setup asks for the first few with a "Skip for now" button, and the rest only come up when you turn on the feature that needs them:

  • Accessibility: to read the title of the window you're in, so focus checks can tell a work tab from YouTube.
  • Screen Recording: only for AI mode, which reads the text on screen. Keyword rules don't need it.
  • Calendar: for meeting heads-ups and staying quiet during them.
  • Automation: to show and control what's playing in Spotify or Music.
  • Location: for the sunny-weekend nudge. Only a rough location (about 10 km) is used.

Skip any of them and the rest of the app keeps working. Everything it sees stays on your Mac.

macOS says it can't verify the app. What now?

This early build isn't notarized by Apple yet. Open the app once, close the warning, then go to System Settings, Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway next to Prompt-o-mato. You only do this once.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. If the tomato isn't for you, ask within 14 days of buying and you'll get your money back. Payments and refunds go through Dodo Payments, so it's quick and painless.

How many Macs can I use it on?

Two. One license covers two Macs, say your laptop and your desk machine. You can also export everything to one file and import it on the other Mac.

My Mac doesn't have a notch. Does it work?

Yes. The tomato peeks from the edge of your screen instead, and you can drag it to any corner. It's just as nosy from there.

Does it send my data anywhere?

No. Everything stays on your Mac. The only exception is if you choose a cloud AI provider with your own key: then the app name, window title and on-screen text go straight from your Mac to that provider, and nowhere else. Keyword rules, Apple Intelligence and the built-in model all stay on your Mac.

What happens when the trial ends?

The Pro features lock and the free ones keep working, forever. Buy whenever you're ready and everything comes back.

Is this a Pomodoro app?

Not really. It's a companion first. Focus sessions and Pomodoro rounds are there when you want them, and the rest of the time the tomato just looks after you.

What do I need to run it?

A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) on macOS 15 or later. Intel Macs aren't supported. Apple Intelligence and the Liquid Glass look need macOS 26. The download is about 2.5 MB.
